Structurally, Ball of Thorns, No. 2 is an image where order and chaos exist in a state of tension, a coming together with the potential of coming apart. Visually, it is an image of Christian symbolism.
Ball of Thorns, No. 2 has been exhibited as a work in progress at my solo show Confluences awarded by Ivan Karp of O.K. Harris, NY, NY, at The Gallery of The State Theatre, Easton, PA, USA; and, at the Sculpture Center of the Kouros Gallery (NY, NY) in Ridgefield, CT, USA. In 2004 it was selected for exhibition in the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities’ Art in Public Places' % Capitol Hill Sculpture Project%, planned and executed by ArtGarden Design; and, in 2007 at Sculpture in the Garden 8 at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, PA, USA, curated by Eileen Tognini.
It is published in 100 Artists of the Mid-Atlantic, E. Ashley Rooney, author, with foreward by Charles Yoder, Schiffer Publishing, 2011.
