hitose No Saka (The Slope of a 1,000 Years)
1990
Patinated Bronze
53 x 57 x 23

Inspired by my college studies, Chitose No Saka is one bronze work in a series of seven bronzes seeking to unite observed nature with abstract design in an effort to achieve the meditative and transcendent power of the landscapes of Asian watercolor painting and ink drawing.

Chitose No Saka has been exhibited as a semi-finalist work for Phildelphia Art Now, Philadelphia Museum of Art, USA, 1989, juried by Marge Goldwater, Mark Rosenthal, and George Segal; and at my solo shows at The Gallery of the State Theatre of Pennsylvania, Easton, PA, USA; the Ellarslie Mansion, the Trenton City Museum, Trenton NJ, USA; and, the Pennington School, Pennington, NJ, USA.
